Phillip Jones is a Canberra-based social entrepreneur whose two companies, Two Degrees Group and Schmooze are an expression of his insights into social & professional networks and professional relations.

Two Degrees Group provides a range of bespoke consulting services including professional intermediary services, advice on the design, development and management of professional and social networks, and other professional services.

He also provides advice across a range of communication issues to both government and private sector as a consultant. His clients have included a wide range of government agencies, small businesses and universities.

Phillip is also the founder of Canberra's most innovative professional and social networking community, Schmooze which he founded in 2003.

Schmooze offers a comprehensive range of events and business opportunities for its members and guests each month and online in Melbourne and Canberra with other locations to follow.

He is often invited to deliver workshops on a range professional communication topics and strategies, as well as a being a guest speaker for a wide range of organisations.

He also publishes regular on aspects of networking and social media, and some of which can be read here.

He conceived and co-produced the album, Schmooze Deluxe, a limited edition CD which showcases some of the ACT region's leading musicians and their original songs.

He has served on the Canberra Business Point Executive Committee, as well as Capital Arts Patron Organisation (CAPO 25), Canberra Arts Marketing and Musica Viva Canberra committees.

Previously, he enjoyed a successful 12 year career as a Maitre'd and manager, in leading five star restaurants and hotels around the world including the Observatory Hotel and Bathers Pavilion (Sydney), the Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas, The Oak Room and Republic Restaurant (Canberra), Chateau Laurier and Banff Springs Hotel (Canada) and the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington (UK).

He's also published several rules for military simulation games including Elan, a game for the Napoleonic period that has enjoyed over 40,000 downloads since 2005.
